3GPP Sets the Path Toward the First 6G Standards

3GPP has established a timeline for Release 21 and the development of the first 6G specifications.

The transition from research to study items, work items, technical contributions, agreements, specifications and products is where future standards-related IP positions begin to take shape. Organisations participating in 6G development should not wait for final specifications to begin intelligence work. The critical monitoring layer includes work items, Technical Reports and Specifications, TDocs, contribution activity, company participation, meeting agreements, Change Requests, emerging technical mechanisms and related patent activity.
